Structural Steel Fabricator / Plater

Location: Glasgow, G76
Job Type: Permanent, Full-Time
Salary: £15.00 - £18.00 per hour (depending on experience)

We are currently recruiting for an experienced Structural Steel Fabricator / Plater to join a well-established and growing steel fabrication business based in Glasgow.

Our client is a respected steel fabrication specialist with a long-standing reputation for delivering high-quality structural steelwork and bespoke fabrication solutions. They work across a variety of commercial, industrial and construction projects, manufacturing structural steel frames, builder beams, staircases, walkways, mezzanine floors and other bespoke steelwork.

The Role

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced fabricator to join a busy and professional workshop environment. You will be responsible for fabricating and assembling structural steel components from engineering drawings while maintaining high standards of quality and workmanship.

Key Responsibilities:

• Fabrication of structural steelwork and platework

• Reading and interpreting engineering and fabrication drawings

• Marking out, cutting, fitting and assembling steel components

• MIG welding structural steel sections

• Working with beams, columns, frames and bespoke steelwork

• Ensuring all work meets required quality standards

• Following health and safety procedures at all times

Requirements

• Previous experience as a Structural Steel Fabricator, Plater, Steel Fabricator or Fabricator Welder

• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings

• Experience fabricating structural steelwork

• MIG welding experience

• Good attention to detail and quality standards

• Reliable and able to work effectively within a team environment
