Our Future Prison Leaders Programme selects people with the potential to progress quickly into a senior role in the Prison Service.

Supported and encouraged all the way

Apply for this three-year leadership pathway, and we’ll assess you for the senior-level role we believe you could achieve. It’s a competitive process, but if we select you, you’ll start your career as a prison officer and could be a senior manager by the end of the programme.

Combining focused leadership development with hands-on operational experience and guidance from experienced prison leaders, you’ll receive all the support, encouragement and training you’ll need to succeed.
